For immediate release:
On Oct. 16, 2024, at approximately 6:19 p.m. Portsmouth 911 center received a call from 1803 Baird Ave. that a female had shot a male at that location. Patrol officers and Fire/EMS were dispatched to that location. Upon arrival, patrol officers encountered the female suspect outside of that location. The female suspect was detained. Portsmouth Fire/EMS attempted life saving measures on the victim however, he was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department responded. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification responded and processed the crime scene. The Scioto County Coroner’s Office arrived and transported the deceased to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
The deceased has been identified as Anthony Wilson, a 46-year-old male from 1803 Baird Ave. in Portsmouth.
Investigators have charged Juliana James Wilson with Murder (Felony 1). Juliana Wilson is a 47-year-old female also from 1803 Baird Ave. Portsmouth, Ohio.
The victim, Anthony Wilson, and the suspect, Juliana Wilson, were married and this homicide escalated from a domestic incident.

The Portsmouth Ohio Police Department announces the arrest of Tarik Matthews, age 22, of 2237 Thomas Ave. apt. 206 in Portsmouth. Mr. Matthews has been charged with Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor.
The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) contacted the Portsmouth Police Department about information they received about child sexual assault material being sent via the internet from 2237 Thomas Ave. apartment 206. On Oct. 8, 2024, detectives from the Portsmouth Police Department executed a search warrant at 2237 Thomas Ave. Apt. 206.
As a result of that search warrant, detectives arrested and charged Mr. Matthews with one count of Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor, a felony of the 2nd degree. Mr. Matthews was lodged in the Scioto County Jail pending his arraignment in Portsmouth Municipal Court.
